Doug Dillaman’s review published on Letterboxd:
In which Marvel gives an indigenous filmmaker bazillions of dollars to deconstruct postcolonial mythmaking and play a dopey comic relief sidekick all at once. Funny both to its advantage and detriment; the humour renders pretty much everything else a bit inconsequential, and the movie spends ages building up to a surprise they gave away from the very first trailer, which left me bemused by the "don't give away plot details" warning. Thankfully everything that's not plot is enjoyable, Tessa Thompson is a super-welcome addition to the Marvel Universe, Cate Blanchett has a great time, and there's some great Easter eggs for Kiwis.
