The best scene must be that one between Austin Butler and Léa Seydoux OMG IT CHANCED MY LIFE. I was LEVITATING.
I think the movie is made for religious people and I guess the director is religious too.
"Dune" is an artisy blockbuster about destiny and it’s backed with traditional governance and matrimonial values. While I have reservations regarding several narrative choices, perceiving a lack of innovation and an adherence to archetypal blockbuster storytelling, the aesthetic grandeur of "Dune" remains indisputable. I predict the techs will sweep the Oscars. (Actually I’m team Furiosa. Hans Zimmer is trying too hard! Dune 1 > Dune 2)
Timothée Chalamet, in my view, falls short as the lead, embodying only 45% of the character's essence, thus achieving mere adequacy rather than a seamless actor-character synergy. In contrast, Austin Butler fully immerses himself into his role, achieving a perfect amalgamation. #TeamButler
The thing is I don’t fully believe in destiny and finds it too much in this film. The fight scenes are so unsatisfying it’s a bit funny even.
I don’t think it’s made for me unfortunately but I think it’s a good blockbuster movie.
