Paul Thomas Anderson, or PTA for film buffs, is arguably the best director/screenwriter still working these days. His filmography still contains no obvious misses (although some might argue Inherent Vice is not up to his standards).
None of these films deserve to be on the bottom of any list, but that's just a testament to the quality of his work.
