There were so many great ideas in this movie that was unfortunately bogged down by the unnecessarily long emotional scenes. Aside from suffering from pacing issues, it sometimes felt like a mix of the Evil Dead and The Goonies. It had the fun monster effects, the frantic camera and ancient tomb adventure moments. This could really benefit from a shorter cut where they cut all the emotion and lean into the splatter.

Also, the uncle and nephew relationship is reminiscent of LMFAO
