Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal, Donnie Darko) wakes up on a train, talking to Christina Warren (Michelle Monaghan, M:I III). After 8 minutes the train explodes. And Colter wakes up inside a module talking to Colleen (Vera Farmiga, Up In the Air), who tells him he is in a simulation, and he needs to find the terrorist and return to Source Code to tell them who the terrorist is. The creator of Source Code is Dr Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright, Basquiat) wants Colter to keep returning, but the journey has a toll on Colter. The simple premise recalls Quantum Leap, and Scott Bakula has a voice cameo. Ultimately Source Code is not what Colter thinks and we gradually learn the true nature as Colter figures out what is happening on the train.
