Macbeth is probably my favourite Shakespeare story mainly because of it’s themes of greed and guilt, and this movie definitely does a good job of sticking to those themes while incorporating Kurosawa’s style. HOWEVAAA, I did feel a little bored at times, like the pacing was a bit long in some places where it didn’t have to be, and I didn’t feel as connected to Washizu as I did with the original character of Macbeth. here’s my theory: if Kirk Douglas had a lil more southern twang in his voice he would sound IDENTICAL to Matthew McConaughey 

I also just learned that apparently Kubrick could’ve made an intensely detailed and researched film about Napoleon had there been more funding and all that tells me is that I was ROBBED 💰🏃🏻‍♂️💨 from seeing another one of Kubrick’s amazing period pieces! 😡
