]]>i know i'm late for a day, but i couldn't let the oportunity to celebrate 10 hears of my favourite film. i do want to say i found out about the 10th anniversary through Love is Red. this is the second time i i need to rewatch this film through you, dude.
i watched the blu ray my brother gave me for my birthday, exactly the Black & Chrome version. it is absolutely beautiful and some scenes are amazing in black and white, tho i agree with George Miller as he says in the introduction, some scenes lose their essence without the colour. for example, the whole night part in the place with crows loses its contrast with the rest of the Wasteland, and the vegetation also loses the contrast with the dead field of the desert. but still, after watching the coloured verion so many times this doesn't feel like you're missing something.
this still is the best movie i've ever seen. an absolute and complete masterpiece from start to finish. i can't say a single bad thing about this film, i can just be grateful of being able to enjoy such piece of art as this is. this summer im gonna read Blood, Sweat and Chome which my best friends got me for my birthday as well. i'm so curious to know more and more about this film and all the work behind it.
to many more years of witnessing and pouring our love into Mad Max: Fury Road.
and yes Nux, this was indeed a lovely day.

]]>a friend who is a huge Evangelion fan invited me and other two friends to watch this after finishing the show. while the three of us that hadn't seen this before were judging and complaining about Shinji, the other friend told us "if you hate him it's because you see yourself in him". and... it scared me how much he was right. i do see myself in him in some ways, like many other people do.
in his fouth video criticizing Big Bang Theory, the spanish youtuber and journalist DayoScript starts talking about Shinji Ikari, and how a lot of people hate him because he's weak and a big whiny (i counted myself between those people) but he continues saying that it's intentional. he describes Shinji as a trap, we see ourselves in him and then it closes, trapping us and making us face our worst facet. he says it's like falling down and touching the bottom to then be able to push forward and come back to the surface.
now i understand it, i think i should rewatch the whole series because i truly think this can and will impact me a lot harder on rewatch, but it truly is one of the most important pieces of media ever made.

]]>okay this is totally going to be a yearly christmas rewatch from now on.
usually chrismas films are not my cup of tea. just thinking about some stupid problem followed by cheesy dialogue and end with everyone happy by the power of family or friendship makes me tired. but this is exactly what a good christmas film should be like. it shows a very raw reality, with complex and miserable characters living precarious lives, but being able to find some peace and comfort into each other. maybe their family, maybe their partners, or maybe their friends. the fact that this film feels so real and its characters so authentic makes it perfect for a reconciliation ending. it doesn't need to be happy, it just needs to be human. we don't always get a happy ending, actually we barely do, but its great to have people that you and love you, able to point out your problems but also being there to help you to deal with them. love, acceptance and forgiveness delivered in the most human way possible
kinda just pulled out and wrote anything that came to mind after watching the film, but i wanted to go back to watch films and review more often and i think this was a good start.
and happy trans visibility day peeps, hope you're having a lovely day π³οΈββ§οΈ <3

]]>hello everyone. i want to say that i'm so sorry for everything that's happening in the us. i can't even imagine the fear most of you, if not all, must be bearing with. it sure is a difficult time. hell, it's a fucked up time. here in spain we're having a huge disaster that left hundreds of deads and missing people. but even in this dark time, we can each other. you're all so strong, stronger than you may think. keep fighting for your rights, don't ever let others control your life. Trump's comeback to the us presidency is a lost battle for everyone. but i know you're stronger. i send you all my most genuine and love in these times when it seems we've lost it all. that's what they want you to think. they want you to think everything is over, that they've actually won, that there's no turning back. they want you alienated and hopeless. but i know there's so much strength and will in everyone of you to make this world a better place, and your country a place where you can live happily being yourself and with the people you love. i wish i could be there to tell you this in person, and to give every single one of you a warm hug. unfortunately, i can't do that. but i can you with all my being. stay strong, my dear people.
desde espaΓ±a, con amor <3
