They filmed femicides and called it cinema. Disgusting, exploitative, pointless. A woman directing this too.. there’s truly no hope for women. They clearly thought they were doing something by rebooting the original Barda (which is also absolutely disgusting) and “modernizing” it. You know what modernized means here? Longer shots of women being brutalized all while talking about the recent rise of violence against women.

You don’t get to film extended scenes of women being violated and claim you’re raising awareness.…

This whole “i’ve been a lesbian my whole life but i’ve found the right guy and he changed my mind” storyline gives me goosebumps in the worst way possible. I’m not sure if the movie handles this very topic sensitively enough for me.
