It has everything you hope for and expect (funny, emotional, and with plenty of needle drops), and yet doesn’t feel cheap or pandering. Maybe that’s honest storytelling.

Imagine making a movie smoothie and the main ingredients are: Singing in the Rain, Boogie Nights, Pulp Fiction, The Great Gatsby, and cocaine.

To get all the nuance and references I will probably need to watch this again, but as it stands, that was a balls-to-the wall and unpredictable cinematic experience that is sure to stick with me for some time.
