a marvel movie.
some disclaimers: stop making movie trailers like this one had (spelling out the whole script). there HAS to be a balance between that and the one goddamn brutalist trailer (adrien brody slideshow). there just has to be. also i liked this movie. i have poo brain as soon as my eyes look at dazzling images on a huge silver screen though* so that means nothing.

it’s not even that the events of this homo movie by gregg araki are even that sad by homo movie standards… i mean i know this predates the deluge of fagsploitation movies from the last 20 years… but araki makes such likable and nuanced and realistic caricatures that any sad events are more impactful than any of the gay guy sob story movies of subsequent decades…
it’s because this movie isn’t a sob story that it becomes fucked up…

i think this piece went a little off the rails just because we were doing a lot
the focus of the first two movies in the Teen Apocalypse trilogy was on multiple people but was highly honed in on those few people… here we were about 20 minutes in still introducing principle characters and i think it just left less screen time for the characters we already knew
