Source Code

As if I couldn’t love Jake Gyllehaal more. First time I saw this as a kid I didn’t super get it so wasn’t crazy about this one but rewatching now was a much more rewarding experience. A super awesome anti-terrorism thriller that keeps you sucked in at all times.

The linear structure of the “time line” and its kind of but not technically time travel plot device is a little messy, and this does run a little longer than it feels it should, however the source code technology is a really cool idea that I liked giving it an 8 minute “groundhog day” effect. I also loved the cathartic ending that satisfies all loose ends and lets the Captain have his happy ending. Pretty neat and has some pertinent life lessons in it.

Never lacking in intensity, it was a great swing in the right direction for a fun and entertaining thriller that is made excellent by Jake’s performance!
