Yes, it’s prescient. Whatever. I’m starting to think that “prescience” in art is mostly meaningless. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex’s second season was released in 2004/2005 and its themes were timely then. It’s timely now. It’s not prescient, it’s our perpetual present. Fear and hatred of refugees, immigrants, of outsiders, of others, is deeply conservative. It’s always present, but manages to be pushed deep down in the public consciousness in times of prosperity. All’s quiet, liberals get to…

Fully dedicating yourself to a thing that’s in front of you, as a distraction from thinking about your future, because you don’t know what you want from your future, from your life. You don’t know if you want what you’re distracted by either, but it’s easier to give yourself over to that for the moment than deeply consider your existence.

20 years? Oh boy.

I was spot on last time:

“Operatic to the nth. What more do you want in a Star War?”
“When “Battle of the Heroes” hits… fuck. John Williams is peerless.”

In a series of so-called “space operas”, Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith is the quintessential space opera.

Steven Spielberg helped out with storyboarding and pre-vis on this movie, and you can feeeeeel it. Yeah, there are a lot of great sequences I…

“A lot of us are gonna lose our jobs.”
“God, that’s sad. I love the company. They’ve been so great to us there.”
“Well, I don’t know. We were exploited. But they were nice about it.”

I love this movie so much. I’ve made an accidental habit of watching this near the end of April. I’ve seen it four times in the last five years and all in the last third of April. This trend must continue.

I read Whit…

The Force Awakens was amazing! It didn't disappoint. I love it. I love it. I love it so much! The midnight showing was GREAT! The atmosphere was palpable. This is the first movie I've gone to that received a unanimous round of applause from the audience, although it was more of a sitting ovation rather than a standing one because I think everyone needed a minute to take it all in. So yeah, great movie. Thank you, J.J. Abrams.

"I'm a reasonable guy. But, I've just experienced some very unreasonable things."

Well, this is it. This is what I've been looking for recently.

Big Trouble in Little China has no pretensions, no delusions about what it is. It's a full-blooded, fun, crazy, exciting action-adventure. It's pure film. This is what movies should be.

John Carpenter is one of my favourite directors, so I had some high hopes going in, but my expectations were sured on this one.
