I do not apologize for being an overly enthusiastic Denis Villanueva fan. I have universally praised all of his movies quality. Dune 2 is at the top of his list. Timothee brings a sullen reflective gaze when he's in the crosshairs of a decision. He's torn between his visions of the future, the politics of 2 factions, his mother's mechanations, a new love, his father's legacy, and the desire for revenge. The threads are slowly torn away until there's only one string remaining, and the power of that explodes on screen with a speech's impact I haven't seen since 1995's Braveheart. I have read every naysayers possible comment attempting to sway opinions downward but it is impossible when the blinders are on and all I see is an epic sci-fi adventure that will stand the age of time.
GOTTA SEE EM ALL 2024
