I'm glad a character was written to tell that lady to shut the fuck up because that same song playing so many times was annoying

Classic Takeshi Kitano execution in his debut with over the top violence, black humor, and a slow burning drum beat of police brutality and yakuza crime action. I prefer Boiling Point after a rewatch since it has a more fun plot line but this still is really good

Rewatching this made me greatly appreciate the beginning and ending shots. Starts with the early dawn of the misty and reclusive redwoods slowly rising, peaceful, quiet, one with nature, and ends with several shots of the negative impact of humanity on nature. The impact of technology, excess, convenience, and abundance directly shown to affect the Sasquatch as they attempt to communicate with seemingly one of their last kind who was killed, ironically, because of humanity.
The ending while abrupt/ put…
“My kind of horror isn’t horror anymore.”
This completely blew me away and I can’t thank the guy who convinced me to buy the Criterion of this at the advance screening of Longlegs last summer enough
