May thy knife chip and shatter
I am astounded. I am perplexed. I am at the feet of Lisan Al-Gaib.
I mean wow. An incredible masterpiece that gets a rightful spot amongst some of the best sci-fi films OF ALL TIME. Unlike my experience with the first part, there wasn’t a single moment where I was begging the film to ‘get a move on’. From Florence Pugh’s opening voiceover to Zendaya’s heartbroken worm ride I was fixated on that screen.
Theres so many moments in this film that stand out. The dynamic introduction to Feyd-Rautha, Florence Pugh’s diary voiceovers, Paul riding the worm, the knife fight at the end, fucking ANYA TAYLOR-JOY. Of course the sound flowed beautifully throughout the entire course of the film. The ornithopters make me orgasm.
This will win Oscars. The 2023 Oscars hasn’t even happened yet but we already know the 2024 best picture winner. It’s this film right here. And god maybe this time they’ll recognise the acting. Florence Pugh, Timothée and Rebecca Ferguson all deserve noms at least. Maybe even Austin Butler as well.
I’ve forgotten about how funny Javier Bardem is as well like I didn’t know he was chill like that.
