I feel like if I talk out loud about this film I’ll choke on my words. But I feel the same as I type this out too. I’ve wanted to watch this movie for years. I hadn’t because I knew it would hurt me in a way I wasn’t sure I was ready to face yet. I felt ready tonight, so I just watched it. I cried I think 4 times. Even now writing this I started crying a bit again. Heartbreak would be a light word to describe it. Parts of it felt like torture because they really could have had that good life together! And it’s not that Ennis didn’t want that, he just couldn’t fathom it. What made me cry the most was Jack’s death. Ennis had multiple chances to have that life, but he was still robbed. They both were. 

This movie broke me in a way I think I needed to experience. Easily one of my favorite movies now. I think it will be some time again before I can watch it.
