It’s my generation’s Empire Strikes Back. While Star Wars may be more accessible, I am more drawn to the Dune world, in part because it’s more serious and layered. It’s a film with a dense story and a lot of moving parts that requires your attention. A second watch will certainly be satisfying.

How do I pick a stand out performance?
My immediate reaction is Austin Butler. Immediately iconic.
And certainly wish we could’ve gotten more of him and his story.

I’ll it, I was concerned about Timmy leading this. I guess I felt he just rode his good looks to stardom and wasn’t really worthy of elite actor territory, but goddamnit there were multiple moments in his performance that proved he was kinda born for this, or as some may say… Lisan al-Gaib, as it was written.
His character presents a condition that Hollywood probably doesn’t like: a rising hero turns legitimate villain 
There is a switch that Chalamet flips in the third act that really changed my perspective on him.
Also anytime he spoke in the native Fremen language was so badass. Honestly wish the script was less in English and had more fremen

My soul longs to return to the big screen to experience this again. Gonna have to make it happen next week.
