Te hubieras quedado con Igor desde el principio.
Realmente esperaba otra cosa, tal vez más drama o emoción. Pero es casi una comedia, con un pendejo que se casa por impulso pero sabe que cuando se entere la mamá se va a ir con la cola entre las patas.
Se la pasan una hora de la película buscando al salame del hijo. Ella se la pasa en bolas toda la película, ya entendimos que es una trabajadora sexual no era necesario. En el fondo no hay una trama profunda, dolorosa, llegan los padres, ella patalea como una niña de 5 años y van a anular el matrimonio a Las Vegas, donde se casan todos los que después van a anularlo.
Flashdance ya lo planteó hace 40 años con mucha más seriedad, emoción y profundidad, especialmente la diferencia de clases que es realmente el trasfondo de esta película. Hasta en qué pasó ayer tiene más sentido el matrimonio.

No entiendo el hype y menos el Oscar a mejor película cuando tenias la monumental The Brutalist.

I quite like Polish cinema; it's always sober and modest, without fanfare. It reminded me of The Mire, a good series. This film takes its time, something so criticized in the TikTok era, I think that's precisely its strong point.

Sometimes I prefer to rewatch a film I really enjoyed. Ralph Fiennes, Rob Morrow (wow), John Turturro, Paul Scofield and Marty Scorsese in a 1950s-set film about values, intelligent, sober, and well-acted. Almost at the end, at 1:54, Ethan Hawke appears. It's so nice to discover those little things.

Mark Rylance, you know i love you very much, but I don't know if I loved your movie.
The Outfit is an elegant film with a narrative rhythm reminiscent of classical theater. It's also the fact that everything takes place in an interior location, a Chicago tailor shop in the 1950s, which makes it even more theatrical. I liked that. Obviously, Chicago is synonymous with  Capone, and these are his heirs, but irishmen with very low IQs and crazy ideas that Al himself would kill for their ineptitude.
Mark Rylance, as always, gives a masterful performance as Leonard, a British tailor with a mysterious past, bringing subtlety and depth to the character. His story has a beautiful cadence, with those small details that separate the tailor from the couturier. Leonard has no better idea than to let this mob use his tailor shop as a cover.
The cinematography, costume design, and music contribute to a dense and sophisticated atmosphere, very much in tune with film noir.

Despite its tension and refined style, The Outfit has too many plot twists for my taste, some clever, others very forced, and others absurd. I got dizzy from so many twists.
And the final resolution, although shocking, seemed more worthy of The Walking Dead, very hard to believe.

The Outfit es una película elegante con un ritmo narrativo que recuerda al teatro clásico. al igual que todo suceda en una locación interior, una sastería de Chicago en los 50’, lo que la hace aún más teatral. Obviamente que Chicago es sinonimo de Al Capone, y estos vendrían a ser sus herederos pero irlandeses con un IQ muy bajo y unas ideas descabelladas que el mismo Al los mataría por ineptos.
Mark Rylance como siempre da una actuación magistral como Leonard un sastre británico con un pasado misterioso, aportando sutileza y profundidad al personaje. Su relato tiene una cadencia hermosa, con esos pequeños detalles que separan al sastre del modisto. Leonard no tiene mejor idea que dejar que esta mafia use su sastería como pantalla.
La fotografía, el diseño de vestuario y la música contribuyen a una atmósfera densa y sofisticada, muy en sintonía con el cine noir.

A pesar de su tensión y estilo refinado, The Outfit tiene para mi gusto demasiados giros de guión, algunos ingeniosos, otros muy forzados y otros absurdos,me maree de tanto giro. 
Y la resolución final, aunque impactante, parecía más digna the The Walking Dead, muy difícil de creer.

Nocturnal Animals is a haunting, deeply disturbing film, and as elegant as Tom Ford deg for Gucci. The opening is marvelous, and Abel Korzeniowski's soundtrack is stunning. The performances of Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michael Shannon are marvelous. Under their eyes, the film becomes a work of visual art full of symbolism, repressed emotions, and emotional and physical violence.
A story within a story

The film moves between the sophisticated coldness of the present and the desert-like harshness of the novel's world. This contrast is fundamental: the present is acetic, full of artificial beauty and existential emptiness, while the novel is visceral and violent. Qué película perfecta, inolvidable. Creo que es mi segunda película favorita después de La La Land. Una maravilla que empieza en el título, Animales Nocturnos. Qué es un animal nocturno?
Es un animal que te atrapa sin que lo veas venir.
Animales Nocturnos es una película inquietante, profundamente perturbadora y tan elegante como Tom Ford diseñando para Gucci. Ya la intro es una maravilla, la banda sonora de Abel Korzeniowski es una maravilla. La actuación de Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal y Michael Shannon son maravillosas. Bajo su mirada la película se convierte en una obra de arte visual cargada de simbolismo, emociones reprimidas y violencia emocional y física.

“Do you hear them, Clarice? Are the lambs still screaming?”

Lamb, the debut feature by Icelander Valdimar Jóhannsson, is a deeply disturbing film that blends rural realism with a touch of dark fantasy. Although it has been labeled as folk horror, it actually moves away from conventional horror to offer a much more ambiguous and emotional experience, where the strange intrudes into the everyday without much explanation.

The story centers on a farming couple, Maria and Ingvar, whose lonely and routine life is turned upside down by the birth of a very special lamb. They name her Ada and dress her in a girl's clothing, which gives her a certain tenderness and fear. The mother of the lamb claims her daughter, and that's the most disturbing part for me. She calls out to her through the window, and it's so sad and heartbreaking. Jóhannsson takes his time introducing us to this isolated world, and through a narrative almost without dialogue, builds a dense atmosphere full of symbolism. Nature, Iceland's harsh climate, and the silence of the characters reinforce the sense of loneliness and loss that runs throughout the film.

One of Lamb's greatest achievements is his ability to convey complex emotions without needing to explain them overtly. The bond the couple develops with the lamb isn't simply strange: it's deeply human. It speaks to us about the need to fill voids, about grief, and about the power of love and denial to distort our perception of reality.

The presence of the character of Petur, Ingvar's brother, introduces a more logical and skeptical perspective, which confronts the viewer with their own discomfort in the face of the unusual. However, it is in this discomfort that the film finds its strength: it doesn't seek answers, but rather generates questions and contradictory emotions.

In short, Lamb is a brave, original, and emotionally complex film. It's not for everyone, but those who get into its rhythm and accept its proposal will find in it a unique, poetic, and deeply disturbing cinematic experience.

Lamb, ópera prima del islandés Valdimar Jóhannsson, es una propuesta cinematográfica profundamente inquietante, que mezcla el realismo rural con un toque de fantasía oscura. Aunque se la ha etiquetado como parte del folk horror, en realidad se aleja del terror convencional para ofrecer una experiencia mucho más ambigua y emocional, donde lo extraño irrumpe en lo cotidiano sin grandes explicaciones.

La historia se centra en una pareja de granjeros, María e Ingvar, cuya vida solitaria y rutinaria da un giro con el nacimiento de un cordero muy especial. Le ponen un nombre Ada y la visten con ropas de una niña, lo que da cierta ternura y miedo. It refers to a period in spring in the Osage culture where they call the Flower Moon, the full moon in May, when flowers bloom before withering. Symbolically, it represents a moment of beauty and life before tragedy, which fits with the story of the book and film: the systematic murder of the Osage in the 1920s to steal their oil wealth.
The title is poetic but somber, suggesting that the murders occurred at a time of boom (when the Osage were prospering economically) and that their lives were cut short prematurely, like flowers in their prime.

Ya el título te interpela, qué es un asesino de la luna de las flores?
Hace referencia a un período de la primavera en la cultura Osage que llaman Flower Moon (Luna de las Flores) a la luna llena de mayo, cuando las flores florecen antes de marchitarse. Simbólicamente, representa un momento de belleza y vida antes de la tragedia, lo que encaja con la historia del libro y la película: el asesinato sistemático de los Osage en la década de 1920 para quedarse su riqueza petrolera.
El título es poético pero sombrío, sugiriendo que los asesinatos ocurrieron en un momento de auge (cuando los Osage prosperaban económicamente) y que sus vidas fueron cortadas prematuramente, como flores en su máximo esplendor.

I have times when I watch everything from one genre, and I was hooked on American gangsters and i was missing this one.. The Highwaymen tells the true story of former Texas Ranger agents Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and Maney Gault (Woody Harrelson), who are hired to capture the famous bank robbers, Bonnie and Clyde.  The most interesting thing about the film is not only Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson's performance, but also that the focus is on them, not the gang. We don't even see Bonnie and Clyde's faces, which makes it a little more interesting and boring at the same time, because we all know that in American cinema, there's nothing more attractive than the gangster life. Idolized by the people, thousands gathered at their funeral. Today, the car in which they were shot can be seen in the casino museum in Primm, Nevada.

lo mas interesante no es sólo la actuacion de Kevin Costner y Woody Harrelson sino que el foco está puesto en ellos y no en la banda. ni siquiera le vemos la cara a bonnie & clyde, lo que se hace un poco más interesante y aburrida a la vez, porque todos sabemos que en el cine americano no hay nada más atractivo que la vida de gangster. idolatrados por la gente, se reunieron miles de personas en su funeral, hoy el auto donde fueron acribillados se puede ver en el museo del casino de Primm, Nevada.

Amy Adams is one of my favorite actresses, eternally forgotten by the Academy, for me she would have been a fair winner in Arrival and Nocturnal Animals. Her performance is brilliant, even if the film isn't entirely ive. I'm not a fan of the body horror genre. I liked the concept of maternal "instinct," about how many women find in that path a connection with the most primitive and wild, with the animal.

Serie muy interesante que explora temas profundos como el bullying, el ciberacoso y la influencia de las redes sociales en la actualidad.

Fernanda Torres' performance is immense, without fanfare, a mother and wife of a missing person who tries to keep her family afloat. The scene where they take a photo and ask everyone to smile is heartbreaking.

I read that in the final scene, the actress who plays the older Eunice is Torres' real-life mother, who was the actress from Estación Central. Already with Alzheimer's, we see some flashbacks of the family's home movies that give a poignant meaning to the title of the film. I'm still here.

Supongo que la Academia tiene cierta valoración por estas películas, dictaduras, desapariciones forzadas, que tienen historia en Latinoamérica. Es inevitable la similitud con La Historia Oficial que le dió un Oscar en la misma categoría a la Argentina. Salles nos muestra en el comienzo la vida de la Familia Paiva, nos hace quererlos y lo terrible es que uno ya está pensando que toda esa felicidad se va a terminar pronto con la desaparición del marido de Eunice. Me gustó como contrastan las escenas de la vida cotidiana de la Familia Paiva que de pronto son intervenidas por las milicias, impresiona ver a los soldados compartiendo el día a día de la famila, invadiendo su casa, su intimidad. la actuacion de fernanda torres es inmensa, sin estridencias,  una madre y esposa de un desaparecido que trata de mantener a su familia a flote, la escena que se sacan la foto y les pide a todos que sonrían es desgarradora.

Leí que en la escena final la actriz que personifica a Eunice ya grande es la madre en la vida real de Torres, quien fuera la actriz de Estación Central. Ya con alzheimer vemos unos flashbackss de las filmaciones familiares caseras le dan sentido conmovedor al título de la película. Aún estoy aquí.
