]]>oh john, no matter how hard he tried to escape his past. it was just doomed. as dr swanson once said, “ you lived your way, you will die your way.”
hearing dutchs same speech from rdr2 was so coolll,, he always had his way with words and that’s really what makes him such a well written antagonist.
in my head, john abigail and jack are living happily ever after with uncle arthur !!!! # best game prequel ever…

the whole victimisation of americans whilst allowing them to carelessly it to their own warcrimes in the same scene.

]]>THE CUTEST MOVIE EVERRR
]]>“and in this moment, i swear we are infinite.”
wow.. truly a tender mosaic of introspection and healing, the quietest voices carry the loudest truths. amidst the chaos of life, finding yourself is shaped with the courage carried by the overwhelming beauty of friendship. even if we are invisible, we are still infinite.
logan lerman, the actor you are. completely embodied the message of this film, exudes the fragility of charlies soul, through every aching yet subtle aspect.
this was so me
]]>so achingly beautiful, the tension is palpable, the yearning for one another is defiantly evident. “i can believe enough for both of us.”
every step towards each other feels like a step away from the eternal promises of god. to speak endlessly of love, the thing that animates faith itself, but build restrictions to its freedom is to dictate who is worthy to love.
nothing in the world is more profound than the love between two women.
love this movie
]]>so grateful to be able to have the chance to do a q&a with the director of this film as part of our society today it was a great film and experience!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
]]>im in lesbians with you ❤️

]]>a search for humanity lies a heartbreaking truth.
every human touch, gentle warmth between the souls, every gesture held a story created by fragile threads. koreeda tells us that this film isnt just about an inanimate object that suddenly becomes a human but uses it as a vessel to understand what it’s like to be human, to exist with a desire to find meaning in our lives. falling into a world both kind and cruel. the essence of life.
the full spectrum of it, discovering this is to discover death too. to be exposed to such happiness, wonders and beauty is to witness what loneliness, pain and suffering that accompanies it.
to be able reflect moments that define our humanity in such a different manner, through a doll, koreedas speaks to hearts. all being seen through the soulful eyes as something used for sexual pleasure becoming someone longing for a connection.
each of these characters portray a tapestry of human emotions through their distinct lives, interactions with one another and their common experiences of vulnerability.
beautifully enough, this film is a silent plea. to see the beauty in each heart, and every face.
heartbreaking too. im not a human tho.
happiness isnt something you wait around for. its something you create yourself.
any movie that thrives on fatherly love will have my dysfunctional heart crying. this film is so heavily packed with emotions in such meticulous ways.
noriko and her fathers relationship seem so tenderly sweet, as they both find solace in each other. for most of norikos life, shes spent devoting her time and nursing to her father underneath lies unconditional love. which the thought of being apart from her father would send her into such turmoil. it is dearly bittersweet. a girl will always need her father. this has me so heartbroken. its a gentle whisper to your heart.
her father vows the age of time, and makes it his duty to let her know her happiness cannot only exist with him. how change is inevitable.
constantly encouraging her to marry, as if he believes that will be her one true shot at happiness. the lectures he gave were filled with such intimacy. with a contemplative demeanour but a desire stronger to see his daughter grow into her own life. destined for one. leaving profound wounds as we know his selfless need for her sake will result in his impending loneliness. the depth of how a fathers love can be due to his willingness to sacrifice. because their bond was so strongly dependent upon each other, their separation was even more heart wrenching.
the camera shots were still, reflecting the home like atmosphere and harbouring us in their personal lives. each scene filled with subtle and intimate emotions especially the last scene, where we see her father alone subsequently to norikos marriage. the empty spaces in their nurtured home were once filled with a spirit like norikos. to suddenly being replaced with his solitude. a quiet scene in a darkly lit spacious room, he sits peeling his apple. something he would ask noriko to do for him. no words were needed to convey his quiet acceptance of his new reality. his loss speaks volumes. how that scene beautifully captured the theme of the movie; time is precious and inescapable. change is inevitable.
emotions are still flooding even after the film had ended. a fathers love lasts a lifetime.
i miss my dear father
rain doesnt fall on me. i cant smell it either. but i can hear the sound of it, i can also see the raindrops. there is a heaven above these clouds.
its not that i doubt it but i cant leave here just yet.
heaven is still far away.
hamaguchi is notable in his films to connect with the watchers in a humanistic way, he thrives in minimalist settings with long slowed paced shots that are beautifully filled with tranquility. allowing us to indulge in the emotional landscapes of our characters that linger. the dialogue in his, and many other japanese directors who follow this same style, having the ability to speak universally in poetic sayings in japanese that when translated does not lose its quality. it remains a resonance to people despite the barriers.
the isolation portrayed through the films use of domestic settings, the mundane aspects of everyday life that we tend to overlook hold deep meanings. stillness that is accompanied by grief is replaced with closure and acceptance. sorrow is able to co exist with peace. “ although my sister is gone, the earth still spins.”” i want to film the lives that continue regardless of her death.” in simplicity, satsuki is given closure through takanoris reconciliation with his own pain. through them both, mitsukis spirit continues to live on.
the act of remembrance makes room for healing.
unfortunately there is no english word to describe it but ma 間, the japanese concept of time and space, even visually represents gaps, composed of two characters 門 , a door and 日 sunlight, as it creaks and peaks through the gaps of one and lights up a whole room. the word is described as a pause in time, or space between objects, rooms. where life needs to grow. like an emptiness filled with possibilities. and directors use this for this purpose in movies.
i do love films that speak to the soul, that are simply for the arts emotionally and visually, that strike dearly with just subtle silence that fills up the empty sets. japanese cinema does it best.
