Miloš Forman loved an iconoclast. Or at least he seemed to relate to them. I'm not too sure how the Peter Shaffer's text compares to Forman's adaptation of Amadeus. Considering the casting of nobodies over rock stars (Bowie, Jagger, Walter Matthau), or the blotting our of period and region-accurate accents, however, I hear the musical raspberries the man must have played in his head and worked from as his muse.
In that way, it's fascinating to look back at Amadeus…
