The first film was abysmal. But I saw a few Letterboxd friends review this one and they seemed to appreciate an improvement. I agree. This was the kind of low-budget slasher film I like, and I am surprised this is from 2003. It has an 80s vibe to me. What a change from the first film!

Good enough sequel to the first film. Leans more into the action hero/anti-hero stuff, but the brotherly chemistry between Affleck and Bernthal works.

I think this is the first thing I saw as a kid that made me fall head over heels in love with the whole Halloween vibe.

I feel like we were dropped into a movie that already had been going. Or that this was a sequel. But, it isn't really hard to catch up to the goings on - high school drama between mean girls and misunderstood girls. With a killer thinning their ranks. Good enough 90 minute slasher film.
