Honestly, quite dull. The narrative is transmitted in needlessly convoluted for something that is actually really simple, and the film thrives when it’s focused on scenes - like the heist - that can just breathe on their own, separated from the burdensome narrative around them. Bonus points however for filming a scene outside a pub that I’m fairly sure I’ve been to.

Open Hearts perhaps deserves more credit for its intricate, subtle exploration of the connections between romance and Nazism.

Pretty superb. Wasn’t prepared for how funny this would be either, but it is those clashes in tone which work in relation to the extremes of the film’s narrative world.
