For fans of Red Dead Redemption and the works of Cormac McCarthy, watch Godless.

Really quite strikingly beautiful. The pacing was actually rather gentle, but allowed the characters to grow and the story to develop. The cinematography was always stunning, with several memorable shots (both for beauty and horror). The cast were amazing (shoutout to my boy Jack O’Connell), and Jeff Daniel’s Frank Griffin reminded me of Judge Holden from Blood Meridian. The score got stuck in my damn head too!! 

Occasionally it was a little bit goofy, but overall the tone was spot on and I would recommend the show!

Believe the hype!!! It’s maybe even worse than people are saying it is!!

1. I would love to go bouldering on Arrakis
2. I was drinking ginger beer throughout, pretending it was a spice-infused beverage hehe
3. They made this for me omg. It’s the best adaptation of the books I think we’ll ever get. The changes fit well and feel right within the context of the film. Every component is just perfect: score, cinematography, performances (especially impressed with Austin Butler, who is unrecognisable and terrifying, and Josh Brolin, who brings the grunting Gurney to life).
