Spielberg plays with magic once again. Was very excited coming in for this one... and oh man it did not disappoint. A love letter to cinema displayed in front of my eyes. At times it can be fairly cheesy and exaggerated yet it never falls flat for me. The Fablemans is a special, moving, and captivating take on cinema. Robert Eggers is a master at creating an atmosphere. The use of black and white cinematography is mesmerizing. I’m mad at myself for watching this so late because these performances by Pattinson and Dafoe are insane, and the directing is perfect.
