Godzilla never skips leg day.

Maybe I was just in a bad mood when I first watched this. Or perhaps I'm quite looking forward to seeing The New Empire, likely the latter. Not ashamed to say it. All the human character stuff is still obviously the weak links here as I again couldn't care less. They really are distractions from the main event. When the two titans are onscreen though this movie is simply put, pretty awesome. Perfectly fitting the…

The film is more entertaining on rewatch. Mechagodzilla's design is awesome. I'm so proud of Adam Wingard's journey as a filmmaker.

This is better than the match these two had back in 1962.

On rewatch, Godzilla vs Kong is genuinely such a disaster. Something that should have been so legendary and memorable turns into an average wreck. The human characters tank this story more any other Monsterverse movie with terrible dialogue and a blander than sliced bread plotline. Godzilla vs Kong with nearly no Godzilla vs Kong.

One will fall.

Some of the shots in the close combat moments are WILD! Honestly, now they're best buddies, who can stop Godzilla and Kong?

I still strongly believe that any movie with Godzilla and/or King Kong will suffer if they continually devote time to humans. I'd like to see one where there's as little focus as possible on humans. I just don't see myself ever caring for characters when there's these titans onscreen.

Movie was very much a mixed bag for me. The action was often cool and epic, but it's all bogged down by the uninteresting human plots. It even got to the…

This movie is self-aware, definitely entertaining. But c'mon we all knew that neither would actually kill each other. At this point, there's no reason to follow up with another "Monsterverse" movie. I think it's run the course. I will say I did enjoy watching the Apex president's daughter getting crushed by Kong. Oh, the look on her face LMAO!

It's loud.

It's dumb.

It's practically devoid of any real substance.

And it's everything a monster movie needs to be for a life-long Godzilla fan like myself.

The visuals are off the charts, all the action is scaled up massively, the pacing never breaks (and could sometimes use one or two rest stops rather than rushing to the action), the callbacks to Toho's original films are charming and most importantly, we finally spend more time with the monsters these movies are built around.

In of modern-day monster movies, this is the best I've seen since 2014's Godzilla knocked my socks off.

If I was in the right mood, this would be an easy 5 star film. The amount of enjoyment I feel from the world class visual/sound design, Hollow Earth sequence, the boastful score, and the trillion dollar amount of destruction enacted on the battlegrounds Godzilla and Kong choose to engage in fisticuffs has not been matched so far in this time of the cinematic season. The numerous amount of ways the sfx team are able to display emotion in the…

“The myths are real. There was a war. And they’re the last ones standing”

This is what the hell I am talking about!!!!! This is the monster movie I use to imagine in my daydreams as an adolescent obsessed with prehistoric titans. Buildings getting pulverized, atomic breath piercing through the atmosphere, punches thrown, UFC style takedowns, and ancient enemies tearing up the screen in destruction heaven. Kong: Skull Island on steroids  retracing less of the human storyline and putting the emphasis on action,…

This was too much ridiculous monster fun. Maybe the kaiju fights improved, and so did the aesthetics. That, to be honest, was a lot of neon going on. I love neon, but Adam Wingard took advantage of every moment that he could put in eclectic, colorful lights, even when they were irrelevant or didn't add up to the scene. Besides this, the fights were entertaining enough and delivered what Godzilla didn't. The in-depth of our human characters almost null and poorly written, but that wasn't a surprise. It was great experiencing it on the big screen, though. Missed going to the movies so bad.

One will fall.

Two icons of cinema, one film to try and contain them both. The MonsterVerse established back in 2014 with Godzilla roars back on to our screens with Godzilla vs Kong, an almighty clash of the titans that, with many cinemas still shut around the world, may cause a lot of TVs to give way. It's a battle for the ages but who's your money on?

Legends collide as Godzilla and Kong, the two most powerful forces of…
