I am as MASSIVE a die hard fan of the Verhoeven original as I have come across. I have posters, standees, shirts, autographs, action figures, VHS, DVD, blu ray, 4k, props, comics, books, documentaries, records. I have loved that movie since I first saw it in the early 90s. Literal, favorite film of all time.
And I am here to say, we have been too harsh on this film.
Yes, they should have left the suit silver.
Yes, Joel and…

Beats me chief. Seems like the work of pathological weirdos

There are at least 5 people dressed as Hitler. Cannibalism, of multiple varieties. A doo-wop soundtrack. Topless aerobics. A fully nude woman fight scene. A character that is literally just a dummy. A strap on vagina with teeth. A punk rock music scene that ends in head explosions. It has a dub worse than some Italian movies. And it contains some truly insane dialogue, lots of it from a talking…

Good to know there wasn't a whole lot lost between this and the remake. The gimmick is still fun if unnecessary. And the ghosts are fun, even if they're really just Halloween decorations. Perhaps the best part is Margaret Hamilton playing another witch. It's a cool flick, but probably not something everyone will feel like sitting through these days. I did like that the uncle didn't turn out to be evil trying to sacrifice his nephew in this one. Ends up playing like an episode of Scooby Doo.

That was a good time at the movies. The kills keep you on the edge of your seat. The crowd was into it. It was righteous to see the great Tony Todd on the big screen, one last time. This was a very solid entry, with a fun spin on the initial premise. My love for Devon Sawa and Ali Larter keep the first 2 as my favorites. But this is a largely satisfying legacy sequel/requel. Look forward to buying…

Man, ya'll are some haters. The score is the only thing that is truly awful here. The lore is ridiculous, but works. The characters and acting aren't any worse than most installments. The effects are as good as ever. Creighton Duke is a cool character. It switches up the formula, but still delivers what is expected of a Jason movie, and then adds in a whole new level of wtf tying into Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street. But yeah, that score is made for TV movie bad.
