Watched for Blank Check Live tonight and also it was my next 1991 movie 

If anything works about this, it’s only because of John Goodman and his inherent talent and likability. Still, it needs to be 50% more genuinely funny to be a 2&1/2 star movie. It’s mostly just there. 

Richard Griffiths is good too. Maybe the only other performance that has some juice. 

The joke is the woman has a low voice? Women have low voices all the time! I was used to her low voice by the second line she said!!! 

NOT the best film of 1991!

Lol this was the other 1991 movie I had to watch, coming out the same weekend as "King Ralph." Truly the cinema is a land of contrasts.

Honestly, I've seen this movie 10 times and was planning on just having it on in the background as I kinda played games and ate lunch and fucked around my apartment, but I was just instantly locked in and appreciating how amazing this movie is, as I always do. One of the best! Maybe Demme was the best to ever do it!

The new "Best Movie of 1991," and c'mon, it'll probably keep that title.

Boy I wish this movie didn’t have that awful thing happen in the last act and just stayed a trashy, sleazy, badly-acted, beautifully-shot piece of camp fun.
