]]>LAST MOVIE OF OSCAR WATCH DAY!!
we started at 10am and ended at 11:30pm so needless to say i was feeling a little delirious when the opening credits started.
nonetheless love the performances. still weirder out that there was no intamcy co-ordinator for this film??

]]>my sister (@charlottemerson) and i are trying to watch as many possible oscar-nominated films at the cinemas in 1 day. we continued our day with Conclave.
oh my god!! holy shit (excuse the pun)!! so so genius.
- such a slow film, but the suspense is so intense i felt sick (the score is so amazing at creating tension). - THE SOUND EDITING!!!!
- the genius of this film is in the way this film plays out like a murder mystery, with the main suspects/nominees, and we whittle our way down to get our pope. each time we think we know what’s going on, the evidence throws us. so so amazing.
my sister (@charlottemerson) and i are trying to watch as many possible oscar-nominated films at the cinemas in 1 day. we started our day with Emilia Perez.
i tried to go into this without thinking of the press and opinions being shared about this film and watch it with no opinions going in.
some main thoughts
- to me, zoe saldana feels like the lead actress
- having watched both wicked and emilia perez, zoe saldana should, and will, win the oscar, over ariana grande. regardless of your opinions of the movie, it is undoubtable how incredible zoe is in this film
- for me, most of the songs work.
- i mean come on guys selena gomez was not that bad in this film. she definitely held her own amongst the other actresses.
- i watched this film as its own piece of art, without trying to think of the controversies and problems surrounding it. and to me, it was enjoyable.
cant think of anything else to write for now, might update this later.
