Stellar stellar stellar. I LOVE when a movie is this good. So much to chew on. Such a visual marvel. Wow!!!!!

Remarkable. Incredible. I don’t quite know what to say. I walked out of the theater and sat quietly on a park bench across the street for a while — thinking about what to do with my Sunday evening, staving off an only-mostly unrelated anxiety episode, wondering about my life and the people in it and the curious ways little things become consequential.
I was moved by what Past Lives said and asked about love and purpose, existence from moment to moment and across decades. What does it mean to leave parts of yourself in your past? What can it look like to return to them?
When I glanced at the Blu-ray player and it showed we were 2 hours in, I was giddy that we still had 50 minutes left. I loved this but I’m perhaps most surprised at just how thoroughly locked in I was for all 170 minutes. Stellar!!!
DeNiro, Pacino, absolute A-game. Great stuff from ing cast too, including Val Kilmer, the reason for the season (Tombstone-Heat Kilmerfest double feature). Sick shots. Style, substance, stuff to chew on. Loved the score. Every aspect of Heat feels so coolly and expertly crafted!
Pregame material for Sunday church with mom. Gotta the stakes here.
This film is one of the best that brings me into spirituality mode, leaving me contemplating life and meaning and religion and mythology. I’d find it a bit flat, at surface level, if it weren’t so good at churning up those questions and tapping into a rich spiritual exploration. Great performances—and killer direction and cinematography—also elevate this.
I wanted to like this more but I thought it was sloooow.
Ma punti per l’Italia!
