Man this felt like child abuse

this was the funniest movie of the summer bar none. i’m shocked by how much i liked this and i thought i would like it a fair bit. damn the jokes in this movie took me out. great crowd, even better outfits, massive screen to watch it on, and i got a barbie poster too. great fun day full of watching movies that are so tonally different i have whiplash from it. thanks barbenheimer day. it was great. the existential dread oppenheimer left me with has been washed away in a sea of barbie pink
unlike this director’s previous yuppie movie metropolitan, i actually really enjoyed a lot of the dialogue and melodramas that this movie had to offer. the backdrop of new york in the dying days of disco (like 1979-80 if my timing is right) is really fun to see and the soundtrack the clubbing provided only enhanced how much i liked the movie. there were only 2 good people in this film anyway tho everyone else was either a piece of shit,…
might go down with time but for now this is is. so fun, so lively, so funny, so dark, so anxious, so ionate, and holy fuck so depressing. that ending left me stunned. this was incredible in a way i didn’t think movies this year could be (other than dune 2). this and challengers shocked me. ouch man. it was such a fun time until it wasn’t. also the final scene sort of reminded me of this painting of ivan the terrible. it was the eyes that spoke to me
i am genuinely shocked by how much i loved this movie. it was incredible. wayyy more intense then i ever could’ve thought it would be, and very fucking horny. and the soundtrack was surprisingly omnipresent and just as good. but the definitive best part of this movie for me was zendaya easily. it’s been insane watching her career grow from watching her on disney channel back when i was a kid to seeing her become a juggernaut of entertainment as…
decided to randomly rewatch this today for no real reason other than it popped up on prime and damn this still takes the cake for the best rom com i’ve seen ever. the dialogue is so good, new york never looked so appealing to live in (and never will), and it’s just a good time. also every sweater harry owns in this movie is elite.
