Estranged lovers who still love each other with the innocence of first love is a trope I shall always lap up. While the rest of the movie didn't live up to the expectations it set in the Jimmy-Nithya second first meeting, it was a good watch for the most part. The preaching bordered on being too overbearing, and that's a pain point in low-stakes romances like this one. Basically, I wish they'd just kept being low-stakes and giggly and cute. And given Maryam something better to do, my god what an annoying child.

Oh, the Ranveer girlie in me WON! He returns to his roots, literally, with this one— there is a straight line from Band Baaja Baaraat's Bittoo Sharma to Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's Rocky Randhawa, and it is amazing to see how Ranveer Singh, who did not grow up a West Delhi boy, played two of the best iterations of the West Delhi boy ever in Hindi cinema.
