James Mangold has a firm handle on music biopics, as detailed in Walk the Line, and we even have a little Johnny Cash crossover here. Tim Chalamet does a fine job of embodying Dylan, a contrarian hipster type who never wanted to be famous. Dylan just wanted to play music. He's still touring today (in 2025). I saw him last year. He's lost none of his ion for music.

Kinda fun but really stupid and badly acted film. Stath goes after a gang who traffic young women into sexual slavery. There's lots of shooting and explosions. The film is two hours long, which is frankly unacceptable given how dumb it is. It feels like it was written by Sylvester Stallone. That's not a compliment.

I when a Tim Burton film was something kooky that the whole world would fall in love with. Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, even his Batman (although I wasn't keen on it). But increasingly Burton's films have lost their way. Dark Shadows is a mess. Disted, rarely keeping any character continuity from one scene to the next.
