With this rewatch, Dune Part Two has cemented its place as one of my favourite sequels of all time. I know everyone (rightfully) praises the final hour of the movie but this viewing of the film has made me appreciate the first half of the movie even more, with how well it sets up for the fall and betrayal of Paul Atreides, making the tragic ending hit so hard. Zendaya's performance plays a big part in this as well, with how well she displayed her emotions with just her eyes in those final few minutes of the movie. Speaking of that ending, the way Timothee Chalamet delivers that final line- "Lead them to Paradise" is just so soul crushingly good and sums up his character arc together in such a devastatingly beautiful manner.
Also, whilst I love the score for the first movie, I do think this movie has a much more impactful one (which counts more for me than simply being iconic, if that makes any sense). "A Time of Quiet Between the Storms" and "Kiss the Ring" are just damn beautiful and feel tragic at the same time, serving as a perfect backdrop to the story of Paul and Chani.... God I can keep talking about this movie forever.
