i had never heard the full marilyn manson story or watched western films so this all went totally over my head. but typical oscar bait hollywood self gratification aside, the script was a meandering mess, the characters were boring, and there was only one scene where the plot exploded with a failed attempt at tension building around it. also oh my GOD the male gale and the foot fetish was so nauseatingly explicit in this movie the women are NEVER wearing fucking shoes and WHAT IS HIS OBSESSION WITH DIRTY SOLES OF WOMENS FEET JUST GO ON PORN HUB LIKE EVERYONE ELSE QUENTIN YOU FREAK

tbh i watched this to further convince myself to delete all meta apps and i think it helped. 

also 3/4 through i had to pause for a while because my housemate broke up with her bf and he was yelling at full volume at her for an hour 😭

also this is the first film i’ve watched in probably 10 years where i’ve thought it could’ve actually been longer. but i appreciate the decision to keep it at a decent…
