brilliant, fabulous, i’ve never been more thoroughly enchanted by a movie, the midwest, or its beautiful people & rich culture

This movie is stunning and brilliantly empathetic. It’s astounding to me that that’s the unpopular opinion and most people don’t get it and/or don’t like it. Reading reviews on here, it’s interesting how little viewers were willing to empathize with protagonist Sarah, when throughout the film we saw so many people not put in the mental or emotional work to understand her.

m. night is his own worst enemy as always though, and can’t settle for one unnecessary plot twist, but packs in as many as he can muster. i had the familiar reaction of, “oh this would make…
