I love that a rain/water motif appears during Dan/Alex’s first fling, Alex’s suicide attempt, the Rabbit murder aftermath, and the final showdown in the Gallagher bathroom. A maelstrom of torrential terror brought forth by sins of the flesh.
Glenn Close is truly extraordinary and the film treats her character heinously, right down to the filmed-after-test-screening ending. The Paramount+ reboot tried to right its wrongs, but the actual story is still wrapped up in basic psychological misogyny.
