On the occasion of the 2nd edition of the Rencontres du Cinéma Britannique d’Abbeville, here is a selection of films to complement the festival's program. The theme for 2025 is "United Territories", celebrating rural life, the countryside, and all landscapes far from the cities. Films from all eras, from every corner of England to Ireland, through Scotland. But also foreign landscapes filmed by British filmmakers. Strong emotions can also be found far from London. Christopher Nolan’s INTERSTELLAR has once again been one of our most in-demand films of 2025. Our audiences just kept on coming, and after a few months break, we’re back again for more shows throughout June and July! So strap in for a space epic like no other.

Darren Aronofsky is one of the most important American filmmakers working today. His distinct and intense exploration of the darkest aspects of the human psyche captivates and devastates us. From the visceral experience of 'Requiem for a Dream' to the mind-bending journey of 'Black Swan', the biblical allegory of 'Mother!' or the surprisingly delicate 'The Whale', Aronofsky's films leave a lasting impression on viewers, challenging perceptions and stirring emotions.

"Somebody asked last night 'Boy, you must have been breaking up a lot while you were shooting.' And it's true – because you don't know what's going to come out of somebody's mouth, you appreciate a funny line when you hear it. But the problem is, you don't want to ruin a completely spontaneous great take by laughing through it."
