A punch of a movie.
Before this, I had only heard about the brazilian dictatorship one single time in my history class among all the other latin american dictatorships of that time , but it was all very superficial, I only knew dates and a couple of politicians names.
After this , i’ve come to the conclusion that , it’s seems like all the latin american history has been written by the same hands but with different calligraphy. It’s curious and even jarring to realize how all of us share the same history and personal stories , how all of our countries were subjected to the atrocities of oppression.
This story is also in a way a reminder of how women carry the pain of our history , how they suffer for their husbands and sons lost to the violence and how brave they have been for fighting back for them while keeping their children safe and try their best to protect their minds of the horrifying world they’re being raised in.
Sharing this stories is so so so so important, we often get washed by foreign “occidental-developed “cultures and forget about ours. Maybe it’s the pain we don’t like to acknowledge or the betrayal by our own people , but it’s so damn important because ing its the only way of looking into the evil eyes that have been trying to rip us off our land and lives . In a world where racist and imperial minds are ruling the most powerful political machineries ,this stories don’t do nothing more than getting stronger and stronger . In a world where ignorant and egocentric minds get to use our culture as puppets to tell their mediocre tales ( emilia pérez lmaoooo ) , this stories are a resistance , a beautiful one . I’m so happy this film has become an international sensation and talented asf people like Fernanda Torres are getting their so deserved recognition. Just like “Argentina 1985” back in 2022 , it’s a pride to see a film like this between all the other wonderful films there’s been these year, representing our community and our people.

ayer me enteré por un tiktok que Tom Ford ( si , el diseñador ) también es director así que me dio curiosidad ver su primera película y OMGGGG.
Tuve mis problemillas con ciertas partes del guion pero en general es una historia que vale mucho la pena y omggg el coloring está hermoso.
Ver a matthew mcconaughey , anne hathaway y jessica chastain hablar de conceptos de los cuales no entendí una mierda (a pesar de ser la segunda vez que la veo) mientras Hans Zimmer se saca las mejores piezas musicales con un órgano que te llega hasta las entrañas y aparte en IMAX … top experiencias de mi vida .
Puede que no sea una película perfecta pero por simplemente todo lo que te hace vivir y sentir vale la pena en lo absoluto. Que viva la ciencia ficción y la mujer que parió a Christopher Nolan.
a film so hopeful and caring through the anxiety and heaviness of just the simple thought of death.
The scene where they went back to the apartment and Martha thought she was never gonna be present in that space ever again , how even through death ones life is still eventful. Because choice is the matter of being alive and she truly did it until the end. Death for her wasn’t giving up but just the rest she knew she deserved. How beautiful it is to value yourself that way , to know how mortal ones life is and how eternal your soul will be. Almodóvar te amo .

what a tragic story , showing the insights of many of the roughest times for the lgbt community in a beautiful but heartbreaking way . The ignorance and the unbelievable indifference and dehumanization that queer people faced over all this years it’s just so sickening and was even more evil than we could ever see on the screen , truly makes you think about the progress we’ve made so far despite current struggles. Hopefully we could continue honoring stories and lives like Rock’s and avoid what happened to them at all cost.

Out of joke , this one is special. It completely hits the jackpot for all of us queer people . It shows the loneliness we grow up in and how dangerous vulnerability feels but how bad we desire it. Everything about this is gorgeous , it has to be one of the queer movies by excellence if it not THE movie and of course, one of the best of all time .Will never fail to make my heart warmth .
