There was no doubt in my mind this was gonna be no less than an incredible spectacle, but it was also everything I could've wanted in a thematic manner. Dune: Part 2 impresses in just about every aspect possible so flawlessly that giving this anything less than five stars feels wrong. So many actors are giving career high performances, specifically Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and especially Timothy Chalamet. He commands the screen so well, so many moments of his gave me chills. Austin Butler is such a fun addition too. Hans Zimmer kills it with the score here and freaking Greg Fraiser behind camera is pure eye candy as usual. Like Part One, this is a sci-fi triumph, it's an incredible sequel with great atmosphere, breathtaking moments, and a captivating narrative. I don't foresee 2024 getting any better than this. Bring on Dune Messiah!
Side note: I saw this with someone that had not seen Part One and we were both very surprised at how digestible it was to newcomers. They got pretty much most of it. Sure I gave them some key bullet points beforehand and of course watch Part One first if you can but honestly you won't be too lost if you haven't.
