This phase of Marvel films is basically just how much crap can we put on the screen at one time! The decline in quality is falling off the cliff edge here which started with Multiverse of Madness. I wanted to like it but the absolute mind blast of poor visual effects and very corny dialogue is too much!
An absolutely perfect movie in both production and viewing experience! Christopher Reeve sells it and it would have been amazing to see what Richard Donner would have done with future films. The extended tv cut on blu-Ray is a bit bloated with lots of unnecessary filler but still a rock solid personal favorite!!
I am seeing this movie for the first time today and all I can say is that I hang my head in shame for allowing it to be this long.
The music of Ennio Morricone, the writing, acting, cinematography and direction are flawless. Toto's love of movies is something I can emphatise with more than you know and the realisation that life is much harder in reality than it is in the movies is all too familiar.
