Begin Again

2013

★★★½ Liked 2

Begin Again is another movie from John Carney about the joys of creating music for yourself and not selling out. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train

2020

★★★½ Liked Watched

★★★★½ Liked Watched

Based on what little I knew about it (basically just the synopsis), I expected Sound of Metal to mostly be about a drummer trying to play music while losing his hearing. While there are aspects of this (especially towards the beginning), this is much more of a reflective story that touches on many different parts of life. The standouts that are being praised are Riz Ahmed's emotional performance as Ruben and the sound design, both very deserving of the praise.…
