Grease 2

During my early teen years (well actually starting at the age of 12) I was in LOVE with the movie Grease, even having it as my second favourite movie in my Letterboxd top 4. Throughout 2021 I watched Grease NINE times. I was infatuated.

I rewatched Grease recently and still found it to be super fun. Does it hold the magic it once held for me? No...until one of those brilliant musical numbers starts, which are possibly even better to…

This review isn't gonna be structured very well but anyway. I enjoy this movie but also feel so mixed on it. As a movie, it's really good but also deeply, deeply flawed, and as an adaptation of the brilliant book it's downright terrible. I try to see it separately to the novel but it feels impossible to not get pissed off by a lot of the stupid changes. I've been watching every Gatsby movie recently and this one is easily…

Really well made. Thought provoking, I think I would thrive as a hippie in the 70s. I love Yoko although I did have to mute the TV when she was singing Don't Worry Kyoko

Just so fucking good man. Had to watch this in portions for English class and man it was just so fun, such an insanely awesome movie. Insanely funny throughout, thought-provoking (even if all the commentary is fairly surface level), really great performances, and really awe-inspiring set design. I also never really took in just how fucking beautiful the ending is, really one of the most beautiful scenes you could get from a huge movie like this. Can be a little corny at times but goddamn for a movie based off a fucking doll, this is just so extraordinary.

This felt more like a Home Alone ripoff than a Home Alone sequel.

One of the worst fucking movies I've ever seen.
Now, there are some positive things about this movie. The stop motion is incredible and Ewan McGregor is great.
Those are basically the only saving graces in this shitshow. Most of the voice actors and dialogue are annoying, the songs were some of the worst I'd ever heard. The movie is also way too long. 2 hours is usually a fine length, but this movie didn't need to be anywhere near…
