I’ll be honest, I had low expectations after initially seeing the trailers… but this film actually turned out to be quite good. A bit of a gory-comedy sort of horror flick. Definitely a unique entry to the world of slasher films. Brings back memories of the videos of killer clown sightings circa 2016.

Also found out this was adapted from a novel only published in 2020- nice!

I meannn… it was alright. Would’ve been great if it had incorporated more aspects and references from the game. The inclusion of particular cameos was cool. I kind of wish the ending was a little less of a happy ending.

I quite enjoyed the film and thought the premise was creative and unique. I’d be intrigued to see how much of the film is actually adapted from the short story. Theo James and Christian Convery both did an excellent job at portraying the Shelburn twins (in the present and past respectively), and conveying the key differences in their personalities, characteristics and views.

While the comedy throughout the film was consistently alright, it often outweighed the horror/thriller aspect of the film. Honestly, it could’ve been gorier. The ending lives up to most film adaptations of King’s works in the sense that it feels really strange and absurd.
