Songs of Earth

2023

★★★½ Watched

Imagine if The Tree of Life wandered into the Norwegian wilderness and decided to stay awhile—less cosmic awe, more moss underfoot. That’s the tone Songs of Earth strikes. How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies

2024

★★½ Watched

Emotionally manipulative, the Grandma’s agency is underwritten (she’s only identified as “Grandma” throughout the film..like wtf?), and the commentary on wealth gap is handled with such an oversimplified dichotomy. The Zone of Interest

2023

★★★★ 2

This defeating “Oppenheimer” for Best Sound is The Academy’s second most inspired decision of the past five years after “Parasite” won Best Picture in 2020. I can also confidently claim that this is THE best horror film of the 21st century.
