[on IMAX 70mm film]

One of my biggest movie bucket list items checked ✅

Seeing the Cornfield chase, the docking scene, etc on the big screen in true IMAX left me pinching myself a couple times…just truly everything I love about watching movies in one experience. A viewing I’ll never forget. A movie like no other.

“Devourance.”

this is what it looks like when a director was BORN to make a certain movie. Robert Eggers is a master at creating unreal atmospheres, no surprise there, but this time around, everything has a thin layer of a certain epicness to it that elevates this story to a whole new level. something that i don’t think even the northman had. his skill as a technical and creative genius of a filmmaker really shines through in this film. not…

Brutal. Depressing. Hopeless. Exactly what the real apocalypse would be like. Many times we think the apocalypse will be like fallout or things of that nature where yeah the world ended but there’s still life and civilization and we find our way back, however the truth is an apocalypse would most likely be exactly like this movie. Desolation no hope no food the world destroyed and no glimmer of light in sight. This movie was based off the book by…

This project was such a blessing to helm, and couldn't have happened without our family and community's help. Many of the cast and producing team had family in the camps, including our amazing leading lady, Joyce Cole, whose parents were incarcerated at Heart Mountain. As a father of two young children (who appear in the final shot), it's become even more real and urgent for me, to tell stories of our pasts, and use art to create paths for healing,…

Dr. Hennessy: “You’re just as lonely as you were before. Lonelier, in fact. So what good was your noble sacrifice? Cary, marry him”.

An astonishing cinematography, an absolutely fantastic color palette, an undoubtedly memorable masterpiece.

I can understand why this social pressure weighs so heavily on Cary’s shoulders, especially for a widowed woman in the 1950s. Selfish children and unpleasant companions almost got the best of her, but she chose the right path, guided by her own heart. There are no obstacles to love.

A brief moment of love to Jane Wyman, so intense and brilliant, and to Rock Hudson, so charming and resplendent.

Somehow 10x better on the second watch. This is Lynch at his most provocative and it’s damn good. I’m very much enjoying my David Lynch re-watch / binge. Blue Velvet is next up…

I'm still feeling so much after watching this film. It left me feeling completely shattered. Olsen, Coon, and Lyonne delivered such remarkable performances. It was incredibly raw and deeply moving in a way that's hard to put into words

Holy Fuck!

The direction is seriously amazing and he created a disturbing movie that I don't think I have the guts to revisit it again. The script could have been more consistent, but unfortunately, it is not perfect. The opening scene is terrific as we understand the reasons for the son's decisions to find a new mother. After the opening scene, it starts to lose focus and I was not sure which direction it was heading. The father son dynamic…
