Thunderbolts*

2025

★★★½ Watched

Most comparable to Black Widow in of character personalities, secret organization-related plot points, and overall vibes, Thunderbolts* managed to catch and hold my attention while giving me hope for a new era of the MCU. This is a team-up film that is long overdue for the health of the MCU, but in this case I’m on the side of better late than never. I’m excited to see more… and that’s as much as we can hope for at this point, I think.

2021

★★★½ Watched

The Voyeurs started out as a simple premise filled with boring, chemistry-lacking one-dimensional characters, turned into a tragedy about the slowly growing distance in a relationship and the allure of greener grasses, and ended with a surprising twist that brought the film into larger-than-life “I can’t believe that just happened,” territory, which nevertheless worked.

And, yeah, Sydney Sweeney is hot, and plays well in that sexually taboo space, so the tension works even when it’s not at its most original. I ended up walking away more impressed than I expected; there’s just enough here to keep your eyes glued to the… ehem… screen.

The Wrong Missy

2020

I can’t believe I’m giving this a five star rating, but... just about every joke landed for me and I was laughing throughout. This is one of the best dumb comedies I’ve ever seen, because the plot is somehow both utterly ridiculous from start to finish and also pretty tight in of making the comedy relevant. This movie isn’t a pendulum between cheesy romance and comedic bits, but rather it is consistently both at the same time.
