Deadpool & Wolverine

2024

Listen, if I was judging this film purely off of technical aspects, it would be a 2 MAYBE 2 1/2. The overflow of exposition, bland or weird looking visuals, reliance on nostalgia and fan service, and repetitive comedy definitely annoyed me a bit.

However this film provides us with a sense of self deprecating humor that its how marvel has become a nonsensical yet entertaining cinematic universe. This film contains some of the best action scenes in any MCU film too which is a prevailing factor. The opening scene is great, the cameos are fun and don’t distract too much from the titular duo.

The goriness and language that is allowed in these Deadpool films truly make it different from the rest of marvel. These brutal fight scenes and no holding back cussing makes these films feel like less of kid-aimed films. Hugh Jackman, besides RDJ, is the best thing to happen for Marvel. He IS Wolverine. And I am very glad they made it a point to not disrespect Mangold’s masterpiece really at all. Still not a big fan of the variant shenanigans though.

I had fun, it made me laugh which is rare to do, and I got to see my favorite marvel superhero again. Had a much better time with this than No Way Home.
